Kiki Liu is a multidisciplinary studio artist working across multimedia including ceramics, fiber, design, and photography. She is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
Liu creates vessels that reinterpret belonging and identity across the distance of diaspora, tracing her movement between cultures and home. Informed by a bicultural upbringing between China and the U.S., her work explores themes of belonging, impermanence, and home-making. Liu creates both functional and sculptural pieces that reflect on movement, identity, and place, she shapes familiar objects into quiet meditations on belonging. Each piece carries fragments of distance and return, inviting the viewer to sense the tenderness and tension of living between places.
In 2024, She found Current State Studio, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), supporting community-based, socially engaged art. Her practice invites intimate reflections on personal and collective histories through material, process, and form.
