Stoneware, Porcelain, Glaze, Gold Luster
Size

The glaze moves freely across the surface—vivid, unruly, full of energy—while gold luster settles in quiet places, catching light and asking for stillness. These choices aren’t just material. They echo the two parts of myself I’ve always tried to reconcile. One bold and spontaneous, the other soft and searching for clarity.

In this piece, I’m drawn to the tension between heaviness and light. The dark stoneware holds a coarse, grounded presence, while the porcelain glows from within—delicate, translucent, and precise. One is earthbound, the other almost ethereal.

I’m not looking for a perfect blend. Instead, I want both to sit together—different, but in conversation. I want them to amplify each other. To coexist in the same space without needing to become the same.

This is what I’m always trying to make: something intricate, but still grounded. Something honest enough to hold contradiction, and warm enough to offer a sense of home in that in-between.
